Essel Propack to set up unit in Poland
2 August 2006
Mumbai: Essel Propack Ltd, a group company of the Subhash Chandra-led Essel group, is setting up manufacturing operations in Poland. The new plant, to be set up under the brand Arista Tubes, a leading manufacturer of plastic tubes in the UK and Europe, is expected to be operational by March 2007. The plant will primarily cater to the cosmetics and toiletries industry in Europe.

SAP software to invest $1 bln in India
New Delhi (dpa) - The world's leading business software provider, SAP AG said Wednesday it would invest $1 billion in India over the next five years to enhance its operations in the country.
"India continues to grow in its importance to SAP globally. As one of our top eight strategic markets globally and now a strategic hub in the region, we are seeing phenomenal growth in demand for our solutions from Indian enterprises," SAP CEO Henning Kagermann told reporters in New Delhi.

Arcelor, Mittal Upbeat About '06 Outlook
BRUSSELS, Belgium — Arcelor SA and Mittal Steel Co. NV, the world's two largest steelmakers, were upbeat Wednesday about the rest of the year and their future together, citing rising demand even as second-quarter profits fell because of higher costs.
